JANUARY FIELD TRIP POTLUCK
For our January “field trip” we will be having a potluck at the Alaiedon Township Hall on Sunday January 18 at 1:00 p.m. Please bring a dish to pass and your own plates, cups and other eating tools. Coffee, tea, milk and punch will be provided. Alaiedon Township Hall is located at 2021 West Holt Road., 1/2 mile east of Okemos Road. Holt Rd. is 3 miles south of I 96. The Hall is the only building on the south side of the Rd. If you use I 96 get off at the Okemos Rd. exit. Jean Ann and Dave will lead us in a game of musical chairs adapted for rock hounds.
We hope that all members old and NEW can come on this "field trip" Its a good way to get acquainted. The whole family is invited not just the CML&MS member.
SHOW BOARD MEETING
A meeting concerning the 2003/2004 show will be held Thursday January 22 in the meeting room at the Lansing Police Station South Precinct (corner of Cedar st. and Holmes rd.).The
meeting will start at 6:30 in the precinct committee room. Come early, especially if you desire input as space is limited.
DUES ARE NOW DUE
Dues should be paid to roster secretary Ernie Aughenbaugh at the January meeting or sent to Ernie at P.O. Box 67, St. Johns, MI 48879-0067. To be included in the membership directory,dues must be paid by the February Meeting.
Speaking of dues; The Board of Directors have been discussing the need to change the membership dues to cover the continually rising costs. Currently the cost for the news letter is $9.30 per address yearly, membership directory costs $1/year, Federation dues are $2/adult members and $.50/ junior members and Liability insurance is $3.25 / adult dues paying member.
A bylaws change will be presented to the club for approval upon determination of needs.

A big thanks to all members for your cooperation and participation during 2003.
The Annual Show was one of the best, the Children's Tour was one of the
best and the snack and goodies during the year were the best.. That is a hard
act to follow, but CMLMS can looking forward to a successful and funfilled 2004.
Members have voted to have a show in 2004. The show committee will be meeting
on January 22 to discuss the 2003 & 04 shows Anyone interested in helping on the show
can attend the meeting or let a board member know that you want to help.
We are heading into the Michigan winter season and may have bad weather on a
meeting night. If you hear that North School is closed because of weather or any
other problem, you will know that the meeting is automatically canceled.
During these long winter nights (the days are slowly getting longer), a good project
is looking over your collection for items you can part with and bring to the March
Silent Auction. Mary
