Presidents
Report To The Membership:
"Thank
You" for your support in making me the President for 2005. I will be looking forward to your
suggestions and fellowship to make 2005 a year of interesting programs. To include a Great 40th Annual
show
and getting the word out to possible future members and the interested public.
Our new website should help in this
information and it may take a few volunteers as part of the committee in
keeping all information overwhelmingly interesting as they work with our
webmaster.
I
will be asking for volunteers to help our committees as will those chairman of
those committees. Your help is what
brings together this much respected Society.
And I would like to thank Mary Gowans for her support
as
President in 2004.
Richard
E. Miller

.DON’T MISS THE JANUARY POTLUCK, JANUARY
23
For
our January “field trip” we will be having a potluck at the Alaiedon Township
Hall on Sunday January 23 at 1:00
p.m. Please bring a dish to pass and
your own plates, cups and other eating tools.
Coffee, tea, milk and punch will be provided. Alaiedon Township Hall is located at 2021 West Holt Road., 1/2
mile east of Okemos Road. Holt Rd. is 3 miles south of I 96. The Hall is the only building on the
south side of the Rd. If you use I 96 get off at the Okemos Rd. exit.
We
hope that all members old and NEW can
come on this "field trip" Its a good way to get acquainted. The whole
family is invited not just the CML&MS member.
Many
of you may recall the fun times we had there in the past enjoying “Rocko,”
watching movies or slide shows and eating lots of good food.A few years ago
Jean Ann introduced us to a new game, “Musical Rocks.” Don’t panic, we won’t make
you leave your chair, just round them up into a circle. Do
please be sure to bring a wrapped rock gift or two to share, these will still
be vital to the game. For new members don't worry if you don't have a rock
related gift some of the older members bring extras. This is an event for the
whole family, not just members, so bring the crew!

2005
Show Board Meeting
Right
after the Potluck and Musical Rocks we will have a show board meeting. It should
not take long but there are several items to be decided, number of dealers,
basic floor plan, budget, theme and who is going to chair various jobs. If you
can't come to eat, try and come for the show board meeting, it will probably
start about 2:30 PM.

TEN
COMMANDMENTS OF HOW TO
GET TO KNOW
NEW MEMBERS...
Speak to people. There is nothing as nice as a cheerful word
of greeting.
Smile at people. It takes 72 muscles to frown - only 14 to
smile.
Call people by name. The sweetest music to anyone's ears is
the sound of one's own name.
Be Friendly and helpful. If you would have friends, be
friendly.
Be cordial. Speak
and act as if everything you do were a genuine pleasure.
Be genuinely interested in people. You can like any one if
you try.
Be generous with praise, cautious with criticism.
Be considerate with the feelings of others.
Be thoughtful of the opinions of others. There are three
sides to a controversy-yours,the other fellows and the right one.
Be alert to give service. What counts most in life is what
you do for others.
