We are asking all that have rock/gem related items they would like to get rid of to bring them to the big auction of the year, auction bidding slips will be provided. Bring a lot, bid a lot, leave with a lot & have a good time. Please bring small bills and  lots of change. That will make it easier for the treasurer.

Its time to start work on the 2007 directory. To be in the directory your dues must be paid by the March 15th club meeting.

In addition I would appreciate it if you would check the 2006 directory and send any corrections, additions or subtractions to me. I need to have these by or at the March Meeting. I hope to get the directory out by the April meeting. Send changes or corrections to Lee Laylin 349-3249 or laylin.leora@acd.net.

April meeting.

At the April meeting we will have someone from Elle”s Place to give a short talk and explain how they use polished stones. We have agreed to furnish them with a large number of stones. They need polished stones about the size of marbles (1/2  to ¾ inch) and of many different colors. Get those tumblers going and plan on bring some stones to the April meeting.

Thank you note from Okemos Science Day

We are very grateful for the time and effort you and your friends put into our annual Science Fun Day. Children and their parents were fascinated by your collections, and with your help, we were able to provide families with the opportunity to explore hands on science activities on an otherwise cold and snowy afternoon.  We have been holding our Science Fun Day for more than 18 years, and rely heavily on volunteers like you to stimulate and excite our young people. We hope that we can count on your help again next year.
Thank you again, Connie Deits President, SOS 4045 Van Atta Rd ,Okemos, MI 48864 ,517-347-2968

Show alert

The show is only 7 & ½ months away.  The pebble pond is out of pebbles. Keep those rock tumblers going (the children really enjoy the polished stones).  If you go collecting any place remember the childrens table.  If you visit other shows watch for new ideas. When the weather warms up remember there are still piles of rocks that need sorting at the Laylins.  THINK SHOW! !
