Annual Banquet at Masonic Hall in Okemos
Program: WMU Archaeology Dig at St. Joseph
Location & Time: The CMLMS Annual Banquet will be held on May 21, 2009 at the Masonic Hall, Hamilton Street, Okemos at 5:30 pm (Social Hour), 6:30 pm (Dinner), and 8:00 pm (Program). Field Trip Chair Dan Sine is planning the first field trips of the year, which probably will be a trip to the quarry in Alpena, MI, in May. The tentative date for the Alpena trip is May 23 with a quarry tour from 10-1. The trip to the quarry in Paulding, OH is tentatively scheduled for June 13, but the date is not confirmed. If you are interested in either trip, please call or email Dan. It is also possible members could go on a local field trip to a gravel pit in Charlotte or visit member Archy Ammerman at his workshop. Again, contact Dan!

The CMLMS Annual Scholarship was awarded to Ms. Laurissa Gulich, an Earth Science major at MSU.

If you have fossil or mineral specimens (preferably bagged and tagged) for distribution at school science events or the Annual Show, please being them to Dan Sine at the June CMLMS membership meeting.
