My

To
the membership:
The
year 2004 has been a good year from many perspectives. I want to thank the officers for all their
efforts this year - interesting programs, organized records and hours phoning
for information or any reason. Everyone
worked hard and their endeavors are appreciated.
I
thank all the committee chairs who worked hard and efficiently to have our good
edibles after meetings and during the show, those going out in the community
for presentations, our banquet committee for organizing a wonderful evening, organizing field trips,
those keeping us informed through our Rockhound newsletter, keeping our library
available and organized, everything else that was done and the yearly MSU
scholarship that we have donate.
A
new addition to the committees this year, was starting a special committee,
Webmaster. Our new webmasters have
created a website for CMLMS on: michrocks.org.
It started with just a couple of pages and now includes several pages about our club.
I
thank the 2004 Show Committee who worked hard for the entire year and members
who came the day before to set up and arrange all those tables, who stayed late
to take those tables down and pile up tables and chairs for pick-up, and who found time in between
to bring their own displays and help at the show. The show was held again at the Ingham County Fairgrounds. The attendance was not up to other years at
both the Childrens Tour and the regular show.
And
I also want to thank all the members who responded to our requests to help with
the club silent auctions, set out the snacks and drinks after meetings, who
brought contributions to the hospitality room at the show as well as after
meetings and who just helped when we asked.
I
have enjoyed my year this 2004 and hope that 2005 will be as good and even
better.
Respectfully
submitted, Mary Gowans ,President
I
wish everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Healthy, Happy 2005!!!!
Enjoy
our beautiful Michigan winter inside looking over your collections and finding
lost treasurers to share with everyone at the March Silent Auction, door prizes
or next year's show.
Mary

Bits
and Pieces
The
"MWF NEWS" December Issue, had lots of praise for CML&MS. I will
bring it to the December meeting so that others can read it . But will include
a few excerpts here. Pres.John Wasburn thanked CML&MS for hosting the fall
meeting of the MWF and also wrote "We also want to thank Elaine Angstman,
our Silent Auction Chair for her work at the convention and at Lansing for the
Endowment Fund". Way to go Elaine and speaking of Elaine, remember that
she is going back to Peru and if you have any thing for her to take, please get
it to her. She can use soap, shampoo, men's briefs-size small and old billfolds
and lots of other things, maybe she will give us some more ideas at the
meeting. or give Elaine a call.
Be
sure and read "While sitting on a rockpile..." by Kitty Starbuck, she
and Marv helped out on Friday morning Childrens day.
