Bluffton Field Trip Report – George Heaton

We had cool, dry weather for our field trip to the Bluffton Quarry on Saturday April 27. Our visit to Bluffton this time was crowded with more people than any previous visit I had there. I did not get an accurate count of people but we had five Lansing club members and five Friends of Mineralogy members. At least twenty or more other people were from Dearborn, Fort Wayne, and the Livingston Club.

I found the collecting to be very poor this time. I didn’t even find anything worth picking up for the kids. I did hear that some other people found a few decent fluorite crystals, but I did not see any of them.
